id bet more on the flop and check/call a bet the turn and probably go in on the river

If you bet, he calls, then he isn't likely to have the flush. If he does have the flush then the way to feel him out is to make the same bet again on the river, so long as no other spade shows to put 4 on the board. He'll more than likely raise you on the river if he has the flush.
If you check, he checks, he wont have a flush, but he might be trying to get a free 4th spade holding a hi one in the hole. If he bets then you dont know what he has, because u allowed him the chance to bluff you.
The check makes this hand alot more dangerous and the money you spend on the next two

Except our Hero here is holding the A of Spades
You made a bet on the flop, somewhat small but decent, and got called by two people. I doubt anyone was calling that hoping for two more spades to come which means one of them likely has the flush. Remember here that one of the villians checked-called your flop bet, then checked the 3 spades - this screams draw and he likely hit his flush. I could be giving them too much credit, but calling on that flop would make me assme that one at least had the draw, other may have had AK himself or something but would be foolish to just call and not re-raise with AK.
If the spade comes you'll likely get a lot of action, giving away a free card is usually bad yes but a Spade will help you the most anyway, so nothing wrong with it here.

Yeh, think it was a mistake to bet on the turn, especially such a big bet. The one villian is check calling the whole way and he checks again on the river, he could be a fish but more than likely he has the flush. The other guy with you guys may have the flush or he may have something like AK or KK and is holding K of spades, hoping to hit the flush as well. Could also be a set out there, but probably not because you were never raised. After getting called twice you're likely behind. The guy that has been check calling has checked the river, check behind him and hope the last guy also checks and maybe by some stroke of luck they both badly misplayed their hands.
I may be wrong, but you're almost certainly beat. The only ones calling your bet have you beat and from the way it went, you'll be called by at least one. If you check and last guy bets, you may want to call if it's very small and your other villian folds or calls (no raise).
