...for a loose aggressive player?
Playing in a tournament last night, blinds are at 500/1000, I only have 10,000 left. I'm on the button and everybody folds to me, I have K 6 , I raise to 4,000. The player to my immediate left is very aggressive and calls. Flop comes 9 9 3, he checks, I make no hesitation and go all in with my remaining 6,000. This was an aggressive bet, but I figure there's no way he caught a piece of the flop. He thinks about it and says, It's a loose call, but I call. He turns over Q J, no possible flush draw even with runner runner. He ends up catching a J on the turn.
Now I'm no expert player, but I had this guy right where I wanted him as far as taking his 4,000 he called. Am I under-estimating loose players too much? How do you make that call if you're LAG, with no piece of the flop, with no flush draw, and only a straight draw with runner-runner. Does anybody else think I made the wrong move?

If you thought he was so loose why did you raise pre-flop with that K6?
Sure, you are short stacked but I still think you can find a better spot to get your chips in and you can be pretty sure you'll get a caller if he is so loose.

60/40, you lost, happens all the time. No way I'm pushing on that flop though, especially if the person called a 4xbb pf raise.

Personally, I would push preflop. That is your best chance to get everyone to fold. Your hand isn't great, but you only have an M of 6.5 and getting the blinds to fold here is a great result for you. If you are going to put 40% of your stack at risk preflop, then you are committed anyway so get it all-in preflop here or fold.

Bingo
The call might seem strange but he's only calling 6k to win 15k, and while he holds no draws if he is unsure he was beat preflop it's not a bad call. It costs him nearly as much to fold.

Push pre-flop.
Other than that, he sucked out.

He doesn't seem very loose aggressive to me. If he was I think he needs to instashove preflop against a button raise w/that hand or on the flop. Atleast in my book.
