As some of you may have noticed, I haven't been very active in the past 4-5 weeks. Basically, I took a long overdue semi break from poker and regrouped myself.
A month or so ago, It seemed like nothing could go right. I was in probably the biggest downswing I have ever been in. I'm just glad this was at the point where I had dropped down to low limits, and not 2-3 months prior when I was grinding mid limit NL ring.
Essentially, I had a horrendous run of MTT 'finishes' Including:
Bubbling out of the money by 4 in Bodog's $40k gtd, and by 12 in another bodog $40k gtd, Literally bubbling 3 times in a row 1 place out of the money on 3 consecutive DR Freerolls, Bubbling anywhere between 1-30 away from the money on PP $2500 Freerolls, and doing the same on a few $20's on Stars. I basically had it. With the exception of an occasional SnG here and there on Bodog, I haven't really played any poker in the past few weeks. I was actually hapy starting up again, and thus far I'm just sticking to my usual STT game for a while, which I have been doing for a few days and with good success thankfully.
I'm also moving in about a month if all goes well with the house sale, which means no more job starting soon, which means no more steady stream of income for atleast a short while, which means I'm gonna need to get my shit together and grind Middle limit NL STT's.
Sorry for not posting much at all lately, I just needed a break more than anything!

Welcome back JP. From your posts, I know you are a strong enough player to turn it around. It shows a lot of maturity for you to take a break, so you are ahead of the game already.
Good luck to you.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys.
I played in Bodogs 3.5k Gtd today, and went out about 40-45th (27 paid). I was satisfied with my play overall, there were a few areas where I took some ill timed hits.
After 1st break, I get back to back aces. 2nd hand someone pushes for 3k into my 8k stack, average is about 4k. He has 7-4 and flops trips, turns a boat.
I managed to crawl up to 10k, which was close to the leader at that point, and lost my AK vs AJ on a AKJ flop , when he rivered the boat. At this point I was at around 4k, hit 55 in the BB, flopped the set on a board with 2 hearts villain moves all in for 2k, I call as a 96% favorite since he has 1 heart in his hand (ace), turns and rivers the nut flush on me...After that I pushed A9 with like 4 BB's left and ran into 88 who flopped quads
I played tremendous though. After level 8 it became too much of a crap shoot for my liking and what can I say, the cards didn't fall well at certain times.
But, again, I feel I played very well and look forward to scoring better on tonight.
