How do you deal with bad streaks? I had a 2 day losing streak where i couldnt make anything happen so i took 3 days off... came back and first day back is another big losing day. I have dropped from $420 to $250 in those 3 losing days. What do you guys do to deal with never-ending bad streaks?

Examine my play and hand histories. Make sure it is the card running bad and not me making bad descisions. If it is the cards then I will drop down a level till I see my luck turning around. Other then that not much else you can do about it. Maybe go hit the play chip tables and beat up on people... Laughing.

I've decided today that im going to try small MTT's. $1 and $2 tournies. Even if i lost every single one i play in today thats a very small hit to my BR compared to the potential payout when i compare it to my recent losses.

Try a 1 1/2 month down streak..
Seriously though, you will come out of it. Re evaluate your game and work on any holes you find.
Theres a reason why every experienced player here constantly stresses the importance of BR management, and a downswing is one of the key reasons.
Playing $1 MTT's is a very good idea IMO. Let us know how it turns out for you.

If you have previously been a consistently winning player then don't change your style of play!! You must retain confidence in the long run effectiveness of your play. Your idea of switching up formats and insulating your bankroll sounds good to me.

Pete is also right. And the forum is full of posts of people taking miserable long term downswings. And you hear the pros talk about being broke from time to time (or more) during their careers. You need to know that it is not unusual at all to just get hammered by the poker gods for an extended time.

You do need to analyze why you lost. Phil Helmuth said that after every game he analyzes why he won or lost and I think that this is a good idea. You can do either because of your own play but I also think that you get a better perspective if you can honestly determine whether you were lucky or unlucky. It is amazing how far a string of bad luck (defined as a string of unlikely outcomes) can stretch.

Good luck.
