What Rake % is Common?

Live legal poker in Florida is tough to find but I have a chance to do some travelling this weekend and play at one of the Seminole casinos. I checked their web site and discovered that the rake was 10% with a minimum of $1 and max of $5. At $1/$2 FL I'd expect very few pots to be over $50 so the rake would effectively be 10% most of the time.

This seems excessive to me--enough so that it may make the game unprofitable in the long run, especially if you add tipping on top of the rake.

What kind of rakes do the other live venues collect?

Thanks.

I've always seen 10% capped at $4 in AC casinos, for those games that are raked. One exception is the $7.50/$15 FL game at the Trop which is 5% capped at $4. I don't remember seeing any games that are raked if you don't see a flop.

Time charge games vary. Only game I've played on time is the $10/$20 FL at the Trop, which is supposed to be $5 per 1/2 hr, but in my experience they only collect on dealer change.
