Hi to every1. My 1st post so sorry if it's posted in the wrong section.
The question I have is I normally play $2-$5 6 man SNG's on Blue SQ with varying degrees of success. ((('ve been playing about 18 months in total)
I got to thinking it was worth loosening up during the early stages, i.e. 20/40 + 30/60 BB with 2K in chips to start as it's costing less to see the flop if no-one raises.
I was just wondering what you guys thought about this or whether I should hold back with the chips and wait for primo hands.
Great site with great advice BTW.
Peace.

Personally, I like to see more flops in these early stages with suited connectors, and maybe even KT or K9 suited, or suited weak aces. If you are careful about your kicker assuming you hit your high card, you can perhaps hit a big hand early and take down some chips for the later stages. That is just my opinion though...

Playing loose and seeing flops early in a sng can have wild results, wild up and down swings. Playing tight early in a sng will produce more consistant results and always leave you in with a chance of making the money spots.

I found loosening my game a bit to be a decent strategy in the multi-table SnG's where gathering a big stack is of more importance, and it worked pretty well in the $5's and $10's, but at the $20's and above, tight play seemed to produce much better results.
