Well, I really wasn't interested in what a total idiot had to say but I guess it was inevitable.....
Superboy is/was so stupid it went beyond a joke.
I only hope he's happy now he's playing with himself.
I'm sure he is still winning...........

As a matter of fact, he is still winning.

BTW, he's a great player and I'm not so sure what you have against him.

i think he is scared of him.....

Maybe supafrey should invest some of his winnings in charm school. This thread is not going to be allowed to denigrate into a flame-fest.

There was nothing wrong with what he said.

At all.

Sweet mother of god.
Am I the only one who sees just how pathetic this is?

Who the hell said supa wasnt good?
Better question, who the hell cares?

Echos from a drama done and gone...
wow.

Just so we're straight, my statement was mostly preventitive.

The secrets to success for a poker player? That's easy. Eat your vegetables, take your vitamins and say your prayers. Oh no wait...thats how to become a Hulkamaniac... Laughing

I am not sure how I play poker and win. I guess I just play the right hands at the right time and against the right people. In other words play good poker and find plenty of fish.... Smile.

#1 way to be a winning poker player...
always have the best hand lol.

Seriously though, I've noticed that easily 90% of the people I play in tourneys are too focused on their cards and fail to pay attention to the other players actions. Too many become far too predictable. I'm not saying ignore your cards.... just watch, and don't be predictable yourself.

A global winning tip... intrested to see if there a solid answer. Almsot every tourney is a unique situation, and play obviously has to be adjusted for it so there is no real 'key' to tourney success. Ring games... grind baby grind. Patience.

Don't push your pocket queens from early position with an AK on the flop (saw that one last night) lol. Remember that AA KK QQ is only a pair, and AK AQ is only ace high. Just know when to fold your 'premium' hands. Oh, and don't tilt about it. lol

Anyway, there's been too many stupid little axioms to repeat all of them, but the few that stand out to me:

"It Depends"
"If you're gonna play a hand, play it to win it"
"Raising is good, because first they have to call you, and then they have to beat you"
"The aggressor is rewarded in hold'em"

I think adapting to different situations is one of the most important part of hold em.
Some people really don't, e.g. they wouldn't play different with LAG to their left or if a rock was.

I've no doubt you know what your doing in regards to playing cards. If your playing well and winning then thats good.
I actually think some of what you say makes good sense, its your other arrogant and contemptuos comments that annoy me. Thats not to say I can't be an idiot myself on occasion... Rolling Eyes

Incidentally, why are you talking through someone else? You haven't actually been banned have you?

Words of wisdom from two good poker players and fine gentleman... Smile

To add though I think to be a great poker player you really have to be able to avoid mistakes. Here is a list of the biggest mistakes made by poker players.

1) playing crappy hands out of position. NL Holdem is a position dependent game.

2) Playing too many hands.

3) Not playing good hands well enough.

4) Slow playing too much with vulnerable hands.

There are most likely others but in doing research these are the ones most people (pros and pro-ams alike) point to.

learn how to laydown 7 Diamond 2 Diamond when no one riases your Big Blind
and the flop is J Club 7 Heart 7 Spade Rainbow

and u check hoping to check raise and the Maniac bets out 1/3rd the pot.
so u reraise he smooth call's

turn comes a 8 and u end up all in.

he flips over the Monster 79os

and no 2 hits on the river.

that was a nagarino move for me Sad

My biggest tip (mostly for NL cash games) would be not to get married to one pair hands when someone else shows significant strength. Choose better spots to get your $$ in.

Good luck.

It really depends on what game you are playing and if you are in a tournament or cash.

The 3 best pieces of advice I can think of would be :

1) Patience. Even more important in tournament play.

2) Learn how to fold. Goes hand in hand with #1. I rarely make huge bluffs because people simply cannot fold. I would rather wait for a hand & use their calling tendancies against them.

3) Do not be a calling station.

That's surprisingly good advice. I quite often find myself in the last 15-20% of a MTT doing something stupid with a hand I shouldn't have got involved in. This is a definite crease I gotta iron out in my game (amongst many, many others).

I'm just starting to get my A game together again.
Yesterday was doing pretty good in a 2000 players freeroll.
Was always around top 40, stealing well getting paid for good hands and admittedly also getting some good hands.
Big big PP kept losing - lost a hugh chunk with 10's to a calling station with A6o that rivered a str8.. then my last hand again 10's -rainbow flop with a str8 draw - I bet he call , turn x but a second club, I bet he calls - river another club. Dude goes allin.
And Stupidly I call.

I wouldn't say there is any big "secret" per se. Just educate yourself, practice, and have good bankroll management.
