My hole cards: a pair of red aces.
This hand, I am sure, will go places.
But 2 spades hit the flop,
And the villain won’t drop.
Give the pot to the gambler who chases.

Couldn't resist adding a few more.
flopping a set is no joke
I'm going to stack this poor bloke
for when the board pairs
I'm pushing who cares
shit, he's got quads, now I'm broke
suited connectors are fine
when the flop brings 7, 8, 9
I've flopped a stright flush
my opponant I'll crush
soon all his chips will be mine
red pocket two's I can't limp
raise it big like a fancy dressed pimp
flop is Ace king queen spades
not matching my shades
I played that hand like a chimp

These were, I’ll admit, unexpected—
Two limericks there I respected.
But the third? It was choppy.
Your work was so sloppy
My verdict on that one? Rejected!
But Lo! I should show more restraint.
There’s talent there, surely, if faint.
For where are the sages
With pens to their pages?
Is poetry in them?
It ain’t!

you've insulted my lymric its clear
your words have caused me to tear
my feelings are hurt
because you're so curt
depression sets in now I fear
sadness infects my brain
Im spiraling down the drain
my card play is poor
my self I deplore
my life has become acid rain

There once was a man from Nevada
Who like to play poker a lotta
He made it 5000 to go
his opponent said no
and he showed rags and said, "I've got nadda."

Try poker with Shake—he’s a Master.
But his early attempts were disaster.
He lost all his money
(So quick it was funny)
Then he won it all back even faster.

the poetry thread doth continue
prose shows up in this venue?
s'bout aces and jacks
not rhyming attacks
delete this crap from the menu
before it gets really old
cuz this thread might grow ten-fold
its cards we should study
not ryhming with Buddy
these rhymes will quickly grow old

Mathematics has at least something to do with poker. So perhaps this unique mathematical limeric will be of interest fo some. See if you can figure it out. Answer later.
12 + 144 + 20
+ 3 * sqrt(4)
/ 7
+ 5 * 11
= (9 * 9 ) + 0

can't figure it out
the answer no doubt
is too hard by me to be done

There once was a problem in poker
That was posed at a gentlemen’s smoker
“Does a flush beat a straight?
I’m all-in! It’s too late!”
But he was a practical joker.
I wondered if he was just bluffing.
His game's full of huffing and puffing.
But I folded two pair...
and to this day I swear,
that guy went all-in holding nuffing.

I ‘spose now the patience is waning,
The laughter I hear is just feigning.
I think we should stop.
We’re over the top.
Our readers will soon be complaining.

Why is this a limeric?
Because
A dozen, a gross and a score
Plus 3 times the square root of four
Divided by seven
Plus 5 times eleven
Equals nine squared and not a bit more
