Antigua Besting U.S. in Internet Gambling Case at WTO, from the washington post.
Short version, Antigua won a ruling with the WTO against the U.S. years ago, which the U.S. continues to violate. So what can a little economy do against a superpower? Well, they've got the WTO considering allowing them to distribute U.S. DVDs and CDs royalty free.......
So if 6 months from now, your favorite new album costs a couple bucks more, or your tickets at the theaters cost you more....... you'll know why. Hollywood will take a massive hit from this.
Really, if they want to shut this down, and 90% of the controversy around proposed legislation, all they need do is prohibit horse racing and lotteries from operating over phone lines / internet as well. That won't happen though: too many politicians will lose too many contributions, and the individual states will take a budget hit too.
Just regulate it already.
