In my opinion bad - you fished out on him.
This is a scary board to a set - I would make a big raise and will probably lay down to a reraise unless I had a very good read on villain.
You are 63% dog to the str8 - and I can't see villain playing the way he did with anything but the str8. min re-raising is a sign to strength!

Say a prey to the Poker Gods for favoring you on this one.

sure its hard to lay top set - but in this case, you should probably do.

A real bet on the flop would have given you information. 2 pairs would not have min reraise you, nor will a smaller set on a board like this.

By the time you put in the biggish raise you'll be looking at good enough odds to call the all-in even if you know he has the staight. Putting in chips to find out where you're at is just wrong here. There is a good reason to put chips in though. That reason is you have a very strong hand that will be best by the end an awful lot.

It's kinda strange that you guys (not everyone) complain about how your big bets get called by all kinds of crap, then when you get in a spot like this the only thing you can think of is being called one of the few better hands out there. If everyone is as big of a call-station-donkey-who-never-folds as you guys claim you shouldn't have any trouble shoving all your chips in here.

Are you kidding???

There are 2 possible hands that hero is behind. A4 and 46. Even if your opponent holds a straight you have redraws. If you're folding top set every time there is a remote straight possibility you are missing out on ALOT of cash/chips.

Folding this hand is a HUGE mistake.

Thanks for the replys

I figured 2 pair, lower set, straight, etc all play this way. Even if it is straight, I have a decent chance to draw out

I really didn't think he would be playing 46 in this position either (although an all-too-good possibility)

Absolutely.

To OP: Try to remember to not include your results so you can avoid people telling you to fold your top set.
