Hi, the guy you took the money from here. I would certainly say i was unluckly, only one out and you hit but i wouldn't say bad beat. I did after all let you see the river cheaply and you didn't go all in on the turn. I wouldn't say that was a mistake because there was only one holding that could possiblely beat my and from they way you played the hand before the river i could never of said with certainty you had the 7h.

The mistake i made was not calling or folding and going all in instead on the river. The betting on the river pointed to you having the 7h (i just hated the idea it happened and couldn't give it up). I new you didn't have the Ace high flush because i had the Ah and as the old poker saying goes no-one play the second best hand like the nuts. In other words you wouldn't of played the hand in the way you did with a King or Queen high flush because of the dangers of the Ace high flush and straight flushes.

99 times out a 100 the straight flush would of been a lock hand and flat calling in that situation is the correct play to get another bet on the river. I doubt anyone would play the hand differently up until the river. If anyone would have played my hand differently please let me know.

Hi retro,
what a surprise to see you have found my post. Thanks for the reply. The most interesting to me was the fact, how we slowplayed each other: you on the turn and me on the river. It looked like nothing goes on. I just "prayed", when I bet a little on the river, that you will not just call. I somehow wanted to "show weakness" by that small bet. I had no idea what cards do you have, I thought (hoped) maybe nutflush or similar. First I didnt look well on the showdown, thought you had ace high flush, then later I noticed you had a str8flush too.
You are right, if you didnt reraise me on the river and just called, you wouldnt lose much at all. I would probably do the same as you on the turn having your cards. It's frustrating me, when I "finally" get the nuts, after a long waiting, and then everybody folds quickly, when overbeted. Better to risk to get more. I wouldnt call much, if you raised me on the turn.
I wish you good luck and many "good beats".
