Posted Mon Sep 11, 2006 5:24 pm GMT by mackkie
Has anyone signed up for the 50% reload bonus for the silver room? I was going to deposit $300 for the $150 in bonuses, but i dont want to if the bonus is a progressive bonus like full tilts sign up bonus. I couldnt find any info on their website about the offer so I ask you guys,

what is the silver room bonus like? easy to clear?

I'm a pokerroom player, and I just cashed/reloaded for the silver bonus.

7 player points per dollar to clear the bonus, nonprogressive.
Your 150 bonus would be cleared once you've accumulated 1050 pp. They give you 60 days to do so.

It's for this though that I opted to reload 100 at a time though, instead of the 500 I was going to for max bonus. When I clear the 350 for my $50 bonus, I'll load another 100, etc...

What I do like though is in tourneys there, you're awarded 5 pp for every dollar in buyins: that's >71% rakeback... gotta love that but make me wonder how long they'll continue it. I'll out/reload as long as it's available though.

So if i clear the bonus at 150 points and i deposit $300, the whole 150 will come to me and not like 10 or 50 at a time? Playing PL omaha the bonuses clear really quickly too, but it seems like that is too easy in my mind. So it makes me wonder if i am not understanding it correctly?

It all comes in one shot apparently. 7pp per bonus dollar within 60 days to release. I wish it was released in 5 or 10 dollar increments but it's not.

Like I said, I'm doing mine 50 at a time, 350pp. I'm about 100pp towards the first one now: I only average about 30 pp per day lately (havent been playing as much recently).

Apparently there's talk of adding more member levels in the future too. Curious to see what the bonuses in them will be, if at all. I cant see them allowing the 5/7ths back we see now for long. Would imagine it'll become 10pp per very soon at least Sad

Quote- I'm a pokerroom player, and I just cashed/reloaded for the silver bonus.

I just did the same thing. I do this bonus playing $2/$4 FLHE. Anything below this is real slow.

ahhhhhhh shoot.

I cleared my first bonus and went to reload another 100 towards next 50 in bonus..... error! You can only use the 'SILVER' reload code once! #$%!

Just figures I'ld pass that along as it never says it's a one shot deal. Maybe It's once a month?

I play on PokerRoom also (only site I play) and I've noticed that they are pretty weak across the board on getting all of the details out on almost anything. I see them as a bunch of programming wonks who aren't that great at putting themselves in the user's shoes--a not uncommon problem in computer system development.

I also tried to figure out bonus clearing, etc., and gave up when my head started to hurt and went back to reading the tax code for light reading. I recently found out that I had a sh**t-load of player points good for tourny buy-ins and that they would expire soon. So I bought tourny tickets with my PP--and then had to search and search for how to actually enter the tournys. Signed up for one weekly freeroll I became eligible for and it was absolutely unclear to me that the prize was a ticket into the next stage of a tournament. I wanted to use their gift certificate program to fund my daughter's existing play money account with real money but directions didn't cover that scenario and multiple inquiries to customer service failed to clarify--so no transfer yet.

I'm not surprised by vyni's experience where his plan was thwarted by an incomplete explanation of policy. This is pretty typical of my experience with the site.

I like the play on the site, but again, nothing to compare to and won't leave over above issues. Not really complaining either, just observing. If I were grading the site (I teach web application development at a large university) I'd give it an A for technical proficiency, A for interface, but a B- for overall usability.
