Player 1 had 6 Spade 8 Club
Player 2 had A Spade K Diamond

Just wondering if Player 1 would take the pot just because he had 6 Spade

The best hand is on the board and therefore none of the players can use their own hole cards. The best five card hand always wins and you can use both of your hole cards, one of your hole cards or none of your hole cards to build the best five card hand.

Player 1 can use his 6 to make a 6 high straight if heshe likes however Player 2 can play the board to make hiser 6 high straight. Tie! Give a big Smooch to your sister.
