Don't know what I should do in these spots, if I reraise preflop and he moves in I cant call. I don't want to invest a lot in this flop if hes got AK but my TT may very well be the best hand. Advice?

Reraise preflop, if he pushes back, smooth call or fold.
Or....
Once you are in the position you are in postflop, you can raise him on the flop. You had position here, right? You were sitting w/ a good stack and could risk 1000 without falling back to the pack.
I dont have any problem with your fold here. But this is the problem w/ passive play (just calling). You havent given yourself any information. Remember, 30% of the time, a preflop raiser without a pocket pair will miss a flop. If he is betting out 50-70% of the time on the flop, he is either red hot or he is pushing you around.
2nd pocket pair might warrant a small push back to see where you are at. The K on the flop scares me more than a J or Q, so I might lay down and look for a better spot to stand up to the big stack.
I guess what I am saying (in too many words) is that I would probably make the same play you did. But you might be surprised how often a min raise will induce a fold in this situation.

Not trying to question this or anything, but just wondering how it works- like what the math is behind it.
So if a player raises AK, 70% of the time he hits?
