300x the BB is the basic rule for the game, how much you actually want to bring to the game...dunno.

Basically, somewhere between 12BBs and 4,000,000BBs. >12 is the key

I think 20-25 Big Bets is a good number. That way you wont have to add chips to your stack all the time. You never want to sit with less than 12 Big Bets which is the max a hand can cost.

If you are going to Canterbury, you usually buy a rack. $1 chips for 2/4 3/6 4/8 and $2 chips for 6/12 8/16. A rack of $1 is $100 and rack of $2 is $200. For 4/8 or 8/16, sometimes people buy in for 2 racks, but that takes up a lot of space. I would rather win my way there.

I usually sit with 20-25xBB. Luckily I've only gone bust from that once and I've never reloaded, but now I usually bring an extra 10BB just in case. I usually play 2/4 - 3/6.
