Chasing

Was this the wrong thing to do?

I was in a tourney tonight at PokerStars, in which I didn't to so well because I may have screwed up. I got knocked out 30 minutes into the tourney because I may have done something that maybe I shouldn't have done. In my last hand, I was dealt an As 10s. On the flop came Ks Js 9d, and I was the first to act so I bet $100. The player two seats to my left called my $100 and reraised another $400, and the dealer called the $500 bet and then reraised another $500. Now I had a decision to make, either call $900 or fold. I called, and the player to my left called $500, and then reraised another $500. The dealer called the reraise, and I called the reraise, putting me all in. Needless to say, the turn and the river cards didn't help me out any, and out the door I went. My question is, did I play this hand correctly after the flop, or should I have mucked my hand?

There's rarely a time where I'll ever fold a draw like that. I don't think you quite realize how strong of a draw it was that you had.

I think you played it fine, and better luck next time. What did your opponents have?

Early in a tournament, this is a perfect situation to try to triple up. Never fold in the situation you were in.

Don't know why this thread is in psychology though.

My mistake. I didn't exactly know under which Forum to put this question.

The player to my left won the pot with 3 of a kind. The dealer had two pair.

I seriously thought about folding my hand. I really didn't want to go out in the first 30 minutes, because this was my first tourney, and I wanted to hang around for as long as possible. Play tight/aggressive for the first day, accumulate as many chips as I could, and then losen up some going into day 2.

Thanks LF. I appreciate it.
