I played in a tourney tonight. T5000 with 30 minute blinds.
Blinds are at 200/400. I'm the big blind.
Folds to the small blind who calls, showing weakness...as usual for this player. I raise it to 2400 with Qh 10h. He thinks for a second and calls. Board comes 9d Jd 8c. He goes all in, I call my last 3600 or so. I say "Straight." He shows Jc 4d  You know the rest. Yes, runner runner diamond and I'm out. What makes it worse is that he has placed in the money the last two tournies and probably will tonight because the deck has just been slamming him over the head like a sledge hammer for the last month.
I just needed to vent that out for the whole Interweb to see or else I was going to sleep tonight. Thank you for your time, and may God have mercy on that guy's soul.

Had a guy in a cash game at my table with the same luck. He'd dished out about 3-4 horrible luckbox beats to the table before this happened:
I'm on the button with 22. UTG raised 4xBB (as usual), 5 callers. Flop K 2 3 rainbow. Original bettor checks, next player bets 1/2 pot, 2 players fold, next player (luckbox extraordinaire) min raises, I come over the top with a pot bet. First bettor calls, next player min raises again. All I'm thinking is this guy has AK and is getting ready to pay me. I push. Original bettor folds, numbnuts behind calls and shows 88. The turn... guess.
It wasn't the beat that hurt really it was his comment in chat after. I said "nh". He replies, "Figured you had a set."  Things that make you go "hmmmm".

Tell me about it. This guy asks me for advice on how to play better. Then when we actually play, he ignores everything I say and just says, "I had a feeling."

My neighbor does the same thing. Then, when she draws out with her gutshot, she looks at me with this smirk of pure smugness that says, "See, if I did what you told me, I wouldn't have won." It slays me.
