Brutal night at Canterbury

I now nobody cares about bad beat stories, and I am used to suck outs, but this was especially painful. I should have left after the 1st hand, AJ in the cut off on the post, raise, 4 callers. Flop 10 7 3, checked to me, I bet, all call. Turn J, I bet 2 call. River 8, someone bets out, I call. K9 wins.

So after playing at a small deficit for 1-2 hours, this crap hits within 30 minutes:

66 in the big blind, raised pot preflop, FAMILY POT 9 handed. I say "Give me a 6 high flop (if I hit, I didnt want chasers). Flop J 6 2 w/ 2 diamonds. I bet, raiser raises, most call, I 3 bet, he 4 bets, all remain in, I cap at 5 bets. Turn 7, I bet, raiser raises, late position now raises, so I look at the board, see no str8s, no flushes, should the 7 scare me? Heck no. I didnt see her having JJ since she didnt 3 bet preflop, the original raiser didnt have JJ, why would he chase people off the pot w/ top set and the nuts, so I 4 bet, all fold, she reraises me, now I am scared and call. River K diamonds, check, she bets, I call. She shows 77 w/ no diamond -so basically one out if a diamond draw is there. ICK. I asked her how she called 5 bets on the flop w/ 1-2 outs and 2nd pair w/ that action, she said "it was a big pot, I had to call........"-idiots.

2 hands later I am on the button. An aggressive (A5 raiser frequently) raises, 3 limpers early, so I call a/ A10 suited. Flop 10 10 5, checked to me, all call. Turn 7, checked to me, I bet, blind check raises (tight player-scary raise), I call. River 8, I knew he didnt raise w/ a gutshot, so I raise his bet, he 3 bets, I call, 77 again for a boat-another f*ing 2 outer w/ 77.

My next cutoff I call w/ K10 suited, flop K J 8, w/ 2 hearts, nice. Player on my right bets, I raise, BLIND CALLS 2 BETS COLD, better calls. Turn blank, I bet, both call. River 4, checked to me, I check and show top pair and missed flush draw. Blind sheepishly shows 44 w/ no heart. Set on the river w/ all overcards-he also had no heart-so he was chasing one out. You have GOT to be kidding me.

I never recovered and got out of there unusually early after all these idiots stacked up MY chips and left.

Oh, this one pissed me off too, great read, bad results. Me AK raise, both blinds call, w/ one other. Flop J 7 2, small blind bets out, like he often would w/ a mid pair (he would check raise w/ top pair). I call. Turn 2, he bets out again, I raise, sensing he was weak. He calls. River J, I am sure he doesnt have that, but wants to represent like my overpair is no good, he bets out again. I again raise, sure that he will have to fold. He shows K7. I am not sure who the bigger idiot was there, him for calling or me for thinking I can get an idiot to lay down a hand.

Dave, last night in the space of an hour I lost to three runner-runner flushes. My worst hand of the three was 2pr. In two of the hands the idiots missed the flopped completely, in the third the guy had a pair of ducks. All of them had called on pf raises with two suited rags, the best hand being a K2.

To make matters worse I had a couple guys suck out mini-sets on the river a couple of times and then, after tightening and trying to suck it up I finally get KK. I flop a king after capping preflop. I cap the flop. The turn is an A and the guy--who is no idiot--bets out. Normally I'm sticking with this hand--pots too big to rule out his AK betting 2pr. I just looked at him and laid down my KK face up and said take it. He showed his pocket aces and said "Sorry, I know how you're night's been."

That did it. I split.

was this at resorts or MJ2? Also, i think it's a mistake folding the set of Ks on that last hand (especially face up). You have to be over 90% sure on your read; Even if its the tightest guy in the world, I would at the very least call down.

Oh, no kidding, you don't ever fold that KK in that situation just cause the guy bets out...you've only got that call and the next one, so you're right. You can still hit the hand (although I'm drawing dead except for the case K). On top of that we're in a "bad beat" game and here's AAA against KKK--if I hit a king on the river, which is only a 43-1 event, I win a quarter of that bad beat jackpot: last night my share was about $3500.

It was a HUGE mistake. I was just so f*ing sick of the way things were going that I didn't even see the bad beat possibility. How many times are you 43-1 to hit 3500 for two big bets? BAD NIGHT.

edit: Resorts. Just don't care for majestic

This is why I don't play FL. It allows bad players to get lucky and be paid for it and at the same time it will cost good players to lose their sanity (well except mindgame, we still aren't sure if he ever was sane... Smile ). Better luck next time Dave. You walked out of there many times with more money then you lost last night.
