Glimmer of hope

Posted Fri Sep 15, 2006 5:16 pm GMT by Lokey
I have started to play online and haven't been doing so hot, just got into games that were too quick for me at the time. But today I was playing the little micro limit hold'em tables and hit pocket aces three times in half and hour and all three paid off. I realize this isn't always going to heppen or even often for that fact but it was still I nice pick me up. This leads me to a question to make this post have a point. In one session of poker what is the most times you have gotten AA? And how much did they pay off (often, always, etc.)?

Allow me to be the grim reaper of hope. In FL my record for consecutive losses with AA is 7. In NL it is 5.

On the bright side I once got AA 4 times in about 1 minute on 2 tables and won 'em all.

Don't know how much this helps you, but I've been on a downswing latley. I'm 3/11 with AA in 2 weeks.

I have never really kept up w/ how many times i lost w/ AA in a row, but in my very first MTT online, i was short stacked early. and got AA 4 times in a row, and doubled up every time. I went on to take 5th in the tournament:) Only my buddy, Leafsfann1122 could do it better

AA 4 times in a row? The odds of that are pretty astronomical..

It the chance on any hand is 221-1, then the chance for four in a row is 2,385,442,281-1. Which is a big number! Smile

If I remember correctly I once got AA 5 times in a 3 or 4 table SnG. It was play money though.

For some reason you tend to remember the AA who get cracked better.

Two comes to mind :
first hand of 2nd stage $2.5m on PS . First hand I get AA , and I manage to get away from it living me with only 350 (or did I actually get to SD and lost - can't remember)

Yesterday, a small S&G , my AA lost to a set of 10's. Admittedly I should have folded it when my bet flop get got reraised - but the flop was real not scary and he could have Kings or J's or something....

I'm not trying to be THE smart ass, but i don't think it is a good idea to be counting the success rate of your AA.

But maybe that's just me.
