I would have played both hands probably the same way. On hand one, in a multiway pot your bets on 5th and 6th are probably for value, as you have, in scientific terms, a crap-load of outs. Checking behind on 6th wouldn't be the worst play, either, but extracting 3 extra bets here is probably still the best play in terms of equity, even if you don't have the best hand.
I think checking behind on 5th street on hand #2 is probably correct, but betting wouldn't be horrible, either. You may still have the best hand, and at the very least you have outs, particularly on 6th.
