Well, at my last tournament, where I was expecting to make the top 4 considering the other players I was up against, I didn't even make it to the final table...
While I won't blame it all on luck, I will say that the cards I was dealt made it extremely hard to win. My best hand all night was a pair of aces, and on that hand I pushed on the turn and won it by sheer luck cause the other guy was semi-drunk and folded before he realized he had the straight.
A pair of aces is my BEST HAND OF THE NIGHT, for god's sake! And that INCLUDES hands I folded pre-flop! IFEUWHIOFUHEUIH!
I did manage to make it pretty far considering these limitations...I was the last elliminated before the final table (came in 9th/28).
Obviously I bluffed heavily to get this far and bought a lot of pots...my strategy that night depended on trying to read how much it would take to buy the pot for just about every hand and desperately trying not to show anyone any cards in order to keep my table image foggy.
Considering I'm not the luckiest of folks on any day, there's a decent likelihood something like this will happen again. What would you do to win if this were happening to you?
