I am on the button with blinds at 30/60k at the final table with $2,200 going to first place. I am pretty much tied for 4th in chips at this point and i want to at least make 4th for ~$500. With that being said, can you blame me for making this call? The only thing I can add is this guy has only showed down a JJ and AKh within an hour at the final table.

Tough one, 10 10, I likely call, 55 or less I fold for sure, 77s are iffy.
What is the break down per spot? I am assuming there are fairly large steps of at least $100-$200 per spot.
You raise min and have 8x the big blind left if you fold. There are only 2 stacks that are significantly lower than you and who need to make a move. This probably says call.
The player hasnt shown any pure steals, he has you covered and you cannot bluff in an all in. This leans to fold.
Reality, I likely call.
Outside looking it, I fold and look for a spot where I can see a flop or steal without risking my tournament on a coin toss.

Looking back on it i think I would agree with you as well. It was about a $100 jump from each spot until you got yo top 3.
With that person being as tight as ive ever seen (I got to sit to his right for about 2.5 hours and played prob 3 hands) I should have known better than that!!
I still would have been left with a little less than 500k in chips, which was plenty to do some major damage... but it makes me feel better that someone like dave said he would call in reality

If this were some time before the final table when most payouts were similar, I think stack size would make this an easy call. At the final table, however, when there are huge jumps in the payout size, I'd lean toward folding. True, you will be in critical condition if you fold, but most players' stacks are not especially large, many will not want confrontations, and one double up would put you above many other players.
I wouldn't want to risk my tournament life (and potentially over $1000) on a coin toss at best at this stage, strategically. Fold here, and wait for a more favorable spot.

Good point. I guess this was a great learning experience for me and will use this info for the future final tables I am at. The more u are in the situation, the better you can perform. This was my second final table for a substantial amount of money. Out of 3 final tables i have come in 1st, 3rd and 9th. Not bad so far...i can only hope to make more FT's as I play more tourneys. I would say ive played around 30-40 or so since ive started playing poker (But i do play sng's all the time)?

I think you could pass on that one.
My thinking is you have to dodge 2 bullets. First bullet - Hope he doesn't have an over pair. 2nd bullet - If he doesn't have an overpair, he most likely has 2 over cards.
I hate having to dodge 2 bullets.

Yeah, apparently I think I am quick and agile and can dodge 2 bullets...I found out I am not quick enuff

Maybe you have been watching too much Matrix??
At least with 10's, you have a chance they have an under pair or only one over card.
With the 7's, there is not much hope of that.

easy fold.... not!
I had the exact same situation (well almost)
Very SS goes allin from EP. (2.5XBB)
I'm the BB with 6's and plan to call - very tight play in SB call.
What do I do? I Raise!? (now I have 5-6XBB) He calls (after a long pause), checks a blank flop and call my push. Of course his J's held.
This is a move I should know better then to do!
