Oioi,

I have been learning how to play 7 card stud hi from a friend of mine who is pretty much a master at the gane, amongst its variants.

Anyway, I know you at least used to play a lot of stud, and I wanted to know what you thought had the juicest games out of party or stars?

I am looking at stakes of 5/10 or 10/20

I am swaying towards Stars because not only do they have stud8, but they also have razz, another game I am learning.

Opinions?

Thanks.

I know you didn't ask me specifically but here's my input anyways Razz

I've only really played stud hi on stars, sun & pacific and only played higher than 1/2 on stars.

The good thing about stars is obv. games at all levels (altho the 3/6 game can be hard to find sometimes)

I would say if you are just learning then the 2/4 game is definately beatable on stars, the 1/2 game can be v. loose, most times about 5 players seeing 4th street

I loved the 3/6 game and made the most from there, but like i said, it can be hard to find one going.

I found the 5/10 game v. tough and lost a bundle there after some initial good fortune, when you make a mistake there... It costs!

That's as high as i went.

Have you considered bonus whoring around some other sites? Could be very profitable if you have a large amount to deposit and stud at the higher levels should clear hands quickly. (Check my blog "Busto on bonus whoring" for some good deals.)

erm

if you're looking a juicy higher limit game, go to pacific poker ... im probably taking my roll there after my crypto bonus clears

if you're looking to learn how to play the game well, stars 1/2 and 2/4 are great places to start, party from 2/4 up also has a good structure and is probably a little looser than stars, but both games are very beatable

Learning the game isn't too much a problem. I am being taught by a really good player and I am consistently winning at said limits. Problem is on crypto the lack of games.

I might check out pacific as well.

The bonus whoring is ok, but I get screwed over with the exchange rate being from the uk, and the stud games arent very well spread on most sites. It might be best if I just check it out myself. I know party will be real easy, but I like stars for the HORSE game as well.

Hmmm, I have never been good with these sort of decisions.

I need someone to say "Play there because blah"

Depends on the ante structure and table availability you prefer.

Party halmost always has 5/10 or 10/20 tables going, but their ante structure is a bit higher than Stars' at certain levels, which means that you'll be forced to play more hands on third street because the pot odds are more attractive.

I have always prefered Stars, but sometimes it can be hard to find tables at the limits you want... it often depends who is on and when, and Stud tables are notoriously prone to break up very quickly. The Stud-8 tables on Stars are also usually good (and the players are better than on Party... fair warning), but again very prone to dissolve. Razz.... yeah, I think is stupid, so I might not be the best person to ask about that. But from what I've seen, the Razz tables on Stars are usually tight and punctuated with the occasional uber-DONKEY plays.
