The Hands Nightmares are made of

Apologies to kingetje for sorta hijacking his thread title.

Ok, maybe not nightmares but still, last night sucked. I won't post hand histories since I would have to post all 63 hands I played on a cash table on Stars to illustrate what the night was like. Plus, they were ALL boring as hell to play so they'd be even worse to read. I'm still having a little difficulty believing I played 63 straight hands on a table with a mix of tight and loose players and the only pot I took was when everyone folded to my BB. Sad

It's not like I was waiting for aces either. It just didn't matter what hand I saw a flop with, it either missed me completely or made my hand next to worthless.

The best pocket pair I had was JJ (three times) and all three flops had an A or K and the betting was raised or capped by the time it got to me. I decided to loosen up my starting hand requirements early so I was seeing flops with cards from AK off to 43 suited and I saw the flop 37% of the time. When I looked back throught the hand history I saw that I flopped a pair three times (2 bottom, 1 top). I took the top pair hand to the river and lost to a flopped str8 that I KNEW he had but I called to the river anyhow That's when I decided I was suffering from Creeping Tilt so I left the table and went to bed.

That's it. No bad beat stories, no morons, no donks, just one of those nights where nothing goes right. Maybe things will improve tonight.

I was going to post on this very subject and here I find a ready made thread to pile onto. I'm on about a week-long stretch of just no cards. This is showing up in three ways.

1. Hand after hand after hand of no starting cards. Fold, fold, fold. Occassional 'marginal' starting cards but a raise before me makes them poor candidates so fold again. Crappola in the blinds so bad I'm folding the SB regularly and often folding the BB if there's a raise.

2. Occassional starting cards such as ATo, T9s, 44, etc., and flops that miss so badly it is beyond belief. Typical is a big suited Ace and flop is three cards of the same suit but not mine.

3. Flops that set up wonderful draws that just go nowhere. Typical is flopping the nut flush draw or an OESD only to have no closure. In two hands I had flush draw on the flop, added inside straight draw on the turn, but couldn't bring it home.

Add in a few hands where my TPTK lose out to a rivered straight or a cleverly played set flopped to my opponent's pocket fours and it made for a miserable week.

It is all a streak and I will recover from it.
It is all a streak and I will recover from it.
It is all a streak and I will recover from it.
It is all a streak and I will recover from it.

Last insult to injury factor was a multitude of hands, waaaaaayyyyyy more than usual, where my folded 93o flopped a full house, my folded 74o flops a straight, and my folded J5o flops quad fives. Ugh.

Hang in there Dude, It has to change---or maybe we'll die first.

I can sort of relate to what has happened to me in the last months of online poker. I can't win at all. There is a big chance that I am playing like a retard because I don't feel as if I am playing my best game, but on the other hand. I'm not having much luck. I could double up from a table and just lose it all back in a few hands. I remember being on a NL100 table with 16 dollars left and grinding it back to 100 dollars. I said to myself it's time to hit the bed when I was dealt AA? wow... I was on the SB when it was folded to the button and he raises to 4 dollars, i re-raised to 12 and the BB goes all in. the button calls. and what do I with my AA? I could of layed them down and went to bed, but heck, the right thing to do was CALL, I did have the best starting hand for sakes. flop comes J72 all clubs and I was holding the Ac so I thought I could of been up against KK and QQ... turn is blank and river is blank. I lost the pocket 7s which the button called the ALL IN.

HELP!!! I've been winning my live sessions of poker so am I so unlucky for online... I can't understand how most of the time going all in on the flop with the best hand, I will only win 2 of 10 times. I have decided to buy-in for the last time online and if doesn't work out, I guess I'll have to take a long long break maybe until 2007 to start off he year fresh again =)
