Gambling Ban successfully attached to Port Security bill

Posted Sat Sep 30, 2006 1:35 pm GMT by Adam Marshall
This is in General Chat, but in case you missed it:
They managed to attach a stripped version of the online gambling ban into the port security bill. They took out the parts that would affect the Wire Act, so it probably won't have any effect... but we'll see. I'm looking forward to an interpretation by Allyn Shulman and the PPA, and as soon as there is one, I'll post a link here.

Mid-term elections are coming up......make sure you vote Democrat. I know they kinda suck too but the current majority party (Republicans) needs to be sent a message loud and clear tht everyone is fed up with them trying to legislate morality.

So, I guess the rumor is that the way the bill affects us is that it does not allow american banks or credit cards to directly deposit money into an offshore gambling account. I guess it's kind of silly really, as one can just send money to neteller (an offshore bank I think) and then use neteller to fund the poker.

Does anyone know how online gambling sites will be affected by this bill?
