Blinds rule clarification needed

Posted Mon Oct 02, 2006 8:16 am GMT by ZenBlender
Ok, I'm confused as to how blinds work in certain circumstances.

Let's say there are 7 people at the table. The button is on player 1. Player 2 is SB. Player 3 is BB. During this hand, lets say that players 1 through 4 get eliminated, leaving only players 5, 6 and 7 for the next hand.

First let's assume this is a tournament. I know that player 5 would become the big blind, but what positions will the dead small and dead button be?

In a cash game scenario, where players 1 and 4 can reload, will the button move differently?

Finally, what happens if there are 6 players, and 1 through 4 are eliminated in one hand. If the button typically will have the SB in heads-up play, where will the button/blinds be in this scenario?

THANKS VERY MUCH! Smile

The big blind always rotates one step to the right, but the small blind can be skipped if one or more players get eliminated.

Ok, so does that mean that the dead small is at the player 4 position and the dead button is at the player 3 position? i.e. Do the dead button and SB move as far as possible towards the BB?

sure whatever, it's not as though they get dealt in anyways.... next hand after that player 5 will be the sb and player 6 will get the bb and the button will be dead again...
