Ok, on a side note (from the poll about increase/decrease in numbers at the 2007 WSOP) I would like to ask the question;
How long before a European Venue is used for the WSOP main event?
Are the US law changes the tip of the iceburg? Will Europe be the only main place to play poker online in ten years time?

Never. Vegas is, and likely forever will be, the world capital of gambling, and by extension will remain the venue for the world's largest Poker tournaments.

Hrmm, it's definately a possibility.
The 2016 WSOP, Live from Monte Carlo!
Nah, it wouldn't be the same!

I'd be shocked if the main event ever left the US. Now there might end up being something like it in Europe, but not the official ME.

I believe Harrahs now 'owns' the wsop tourny, and I don't believe they even have a presence in Europe. They'll always keep it in house for the obvious reasons, and with US based properties, well Vegas is the capitol.
I can't imagine it going anywhere anytime soon. If intrest and participation were to all but disapeear... perhaps they'ld 'sell' it to another company. I can't see that ever ever happening though.
