Major Problem with Titan Poker

Posted Wed Oct 04, 2006 9:06 pm GMT by Hal510
Hi

Just a heads up to anyone thinking of joining Titan Poker. In my opinion the whole company is just designed to rip people off and do anything it can to make sure you do not withdraw any of your money.

I recently joined and deposited £150. I then tried to make a withdrawal and was totally gobsmacked by the response to making a simple withdrawal.

I deposited my money via my debit card and presumed I could withdraw via the same method as and when I chose to, like every other poker site I have used. How wrong was I?

When I went to the withdrawl page the only options available were using neteller (which charges 3.9%) or a bankers draft which would take 28 days. I emailed them and was told that it is not their policy to make a withdrawl back onto a debit card.

I sent many emails asking them to give me my money back and everything I said or suggested was declined. They made every excuse in the book blaming their finance department or their security department.

I was then forced to call them in America to try to resolve this situation and get my money back. I was on the phone for an hour a night for 3 nights. I was told that I could not be sent a bankers draft because it was a different method to what I had used to deposit, I said ‘Ok, I used my debit card to deposit, put the amount back on that’, to which I was told that this was not their policy. This went on for days each time they said that they would consult their finance department and I would be contacted by email – I did not receive an email and had to call them back again.

There were even instances where I would ask Titan Poker staff to get a supervisor and the same person I had just spoken to came back putting on a false voice to pretend to be the supervisor. Unbelievable for what is meant to be a reputable, professional poker operator.

I would be very interested to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience with Titan Poker or advice on how I can resolve this situation. If they were based in this country I could of course consider legal action, but as they are a South African registered company (I believe) this would be very difficult if not impossible. It may be a case of me never getting my £150 back, please be aware of this and be careful when dealing with Titan Poker.

Cheers

John

Was it via your bank account or just through your debit card (like a credit card transaction)?

If it was the latter I am not sure any sites refunds to your card. If it was the bank account then they are shitheads.

Ive just made my first withdrawal with titan, & its been nothing but a pleasure. I deposited $105 (thru Neteller) in my account, ran it up to $775, and cashed it out via Bank Draft Express ($35 fee). I could have gotten a free Bank Draft, but since the future of online gaming in the US is in question, I opted for express. I cashed out Saturday night/early Sunday morning, & received my check via FedEx today (wednesday). No holds on my acct/withdrawal til they check my identity, no refusal since it wasnt going back into Neteller, just no problems & no hassle at all.

I know I cant speak for everyone, but my experience with them has been very good.
