How Much do you Have on Deposit at Your Site(s)?

Posted Fri Oct 06, 2006 11:39 am GMT by lwestatbus
There have been a few recent discussions on the income online poker sites make from play and the impact that could have on ensuring fair play and also on the recent gambling enforcement act and its potential impact on deposits at sites.

It occurred to me, though, that I haven't seen any discussion on how much money these sites have on deposit. This is a huge revenue source for them and possibly one that is massively overlooked. If 10,000 players deposit $100 each at a site the site is now sitting on $1 million. Just like a pension fund or bank, they have the ability to invest this money (hopefully in conservative investments) and make more money over and above the rake that belongs to them. Even if I lose money in a game the money stays on the site, just in a different account. The site's overall balance doesn't change unless someone withdraws funds.

So, how much money do you have on all online poker sites on which you play? Just respond to the poll once with the total amount you have across all sites.

This is how Neteller and Firepay make money, too.

You need higher brackets for your poll, too.

Stars all the way, although I'm currently at Pacific and loving the level of play there. I guess that is not an option though...........
