The Safe Ports Act passed by the US Congress on Friday, September 29, makes the transfer or direct processing of money to online gaming institutions illegal in the USA.
As a result, Royal Vegas Poker has no choice but to lock your poker account, and return all cash balances to you via check, or your preferred method of payment.

The day they rename them the New Jersey Jets and the New Jersey Giants, I'll worry about that.
North Jersey is Southern NYC. South Jersey is Eastern Philadelphia. It's just the way it is.

I just did a withdrawl and then quickly reversed it after I verified the story. Royal Vegas and all the MicroGaming sites are only closing off to US customers in 11 states:
1. Illinois
2. Indiana
3. Louisiana
4. Michigan
5. Nevada
6. New Jersey
7. New York
8. Oregon
9. South Dakota
10. Washington
11. Wisconsin

I believe those are the 11 states that have specific laws banning online gambling.

flafishy had the explination correct. Those 11 states have laws that specifically outline online gambling as being illegal or have coure precidents (sp?) stating that existing gambling laws apply to only gambling sites as well.
