Nothing really important was just looking for opinions on heads up play hand selection.
I was playing a sng and it got down to heads up in limit holdem. The game was limit holdem and blinds were 500/1000. He had about 5.5k, i had 6.5k.
Guy raises from the small blind, and I call with 610 of clubs. I end up busting him on the hand when I flop 2 clubs, lead out and call his raise. Turn the flush and bet out again. He calls me down and loses. Afterwards he starts bitching about my poor play, and starts blabbing about how if it were a cash game that would be a terrible move....
Anyway, I guess what I'm asking is, what kind of hand selection do you guys make while playing heads up limit holdem?? Obviously you have to plays tons of hands, otherwise you're just getting blinded off. What are the min requirments you guys have before playing a hand heads up?

there are practically no starting requirements for fl HU. It's purely a "flow" kind of game. I realize this doesn't help, but I'm just trying to say that the situation is so overly complicated that your 2 cards rarely matter preflop.

Personally I'll play a lot more hands from the puck, but it's usually really chip-dependant. If you have such a big lead you're able to play more hands, and more agreesively too.

Then he's a terrible player if he plays the same heads up in a limit tourney as he would in a cash game.

Ding Ding Ding!
We have a winner.
With those blinds, hand selection is virtually irrelevant. Most hands are a fairly close match heads up.

Look at the blinds. Pick a hand and go.
