I enjoy both of the topics. I live in one of the liberal states in the USA that despises both. Being involved politically to preserve the few freedoms left has taught me a few lessons. The most important is that politicians only survive by being re-elected (duh). Robert Godlatte (R-VA) and Bill Frist (R-TN) both need to be lose their next elections.
Is this possible? Of course it is! In MD we had a former speaker of the house , Cas Taylor who always won re-election in a rural district. He sold out the pro-freedom people (gun owners) and was defeated by the activism of a few hard-working people. It was a slim margin but it sent a powerful message to the rest of the legislators. No more anti-gun legislation has passed and some inroads have been made to improve our freedoms.
Check out the votes of your legislators on the recent anti online gaming law and respond accordingly. If any are up for election this year that's about the only time they will listen. Let them know how you feel. I have.
More details to follow. Since I can't play for real I have time to try and help any politicians who support us.

Neither does alcohol or tobacco kill people, or else our ever wise and caring goverment would outlaw those things too... oh wait, I think we tried that once, didn't we?

Frist isn't seeking re-election. However, there are rumors that he's putting together a presidential campaign for 2008.
