average stack size is about 300 dollars cause table was only open for 45 mintues.
im 2 second to act preflop and villian is to my right.
Hero - 240
villian- 590
caller - 290
blinds are 2/5 NL

well what happened was flop came 9 6 2 . At this point i got kidna sick to my stomache. Villian bet and other guy folded. I asked what he had and he showed me pocket 10's. A bunch of people at the table asked why I didnt call preflop and were giving me shit all night about it.

It was a good fold if you felt you were beat, you are only gonna flop that set ~11% of the time and when dealing with an overpair for 20% of your stack it's tough to want to take those odds.
If you both had $500+ it might have been worth it to take a shot and see a flop, since you have had decent implied odds if you hit a set. Up against 10's though you still might not stack him if he's likely to fold to an overcard which is coming more times than not.
As for the results unless you are trying to get the table to run you over, keep your folded hand folded and move on. I've yet to see a poker table unwilling to tell you how stupid you were for doing the right thing.
