"Investing" in an aggressive fish

Posted Fri Oct 20, 2006 10:27 am GMT by Dave B
I played some 8 handed 5/10 limit at Full Tilt in the wee hours last night. Some ultra aggressive donk would cap after the flop w/ any pair vs some other aggressive players who were overplaying AK AQ etc. Against other players, he would fold to any aggression.

Seeing this, I got A4 A5 when he was in the big blind and raised from early position (there was one player between us and I had position on him, 2nd best seat in the house). All folded and we were heads up. I completely missed the flop and he bets, I raise and we cap. Turn river dont help and I just call down, he showed 75 for bottom pair on the flop and 4th pair overall. He wins, I lose $50.

In the next hour I took $250 back. He would either limp or raise w/ poor hands and I tightened WAY up against him. Meanwhile, the table was tight, so I was playing loose aggressive vs others and showing down some junk winners and stealing blinds. Anyhoo, if I missed, I got out. Any made hand was instant action and this chump just kept paying me off and reloading.

Perfect storm, it was wonderful. Where else can you get a 500% return on a $50 investment in just over an hour????
