Just got back from a live tourney, probably about 70 or 80 players. Out of the 4 or so hours that I've played, I saw A  Q once, A-10 twice, pocket 5's three times, and pocket 3's once. Those were about the only decent starting hands that I've had all night. Every time I had one of those hands, a tight player in early position is raising like, 3X the pot. Maybe I'm just playing too tight, but I'm not the type of player who limps/raises with 2-7, 3-9, J-3, 4-6, 5-7, or 2-5 with a short/mediocre chip stack.

Sometimes it does seems like you get no cards at all and just sit there for a couple of hours and fold, fold, fold!
Well, take advantage of that and start stealing pots..
Also, depend on position I will call a 3X raise with pp, AXs and sometimes even suited connectors...

The problem was, I never had the chipstack to steal. The one time I tried to steal, I busted out.
I only won 2 pots the entire night, both which I was all-in before the flop.
I'm just going to assume that it is statistically highly improbable to see just pocket 5's and 3's as the best hands through 4 hours.

Yea it happens to the best of us. It seams when I play live I cant catch a hand lately. Last 2 months I have played the rebuy tourny at the casino every tuesday I can never get to the final table or even close in a matter of fact cause I cant just castch a hand to actually bet with. However when I play online I seam to do pretty decently well. The one thing I dont like about live tournies if you have a slow dealer it is just horrible. Blinds going up quickly and they are not dishing out the cards fast enough.

Your about the millionth person who doesnt get it...
I find it funny how everyone and their brother , leaves the computer
for an evening of cards, and all of a sudden they SUCK or cant catch
any cards in real life.
You cant tell me , with ALL the so called experts in here, and alot of brainiacs, that nobody believes online poker is friggin fake.
No wonder online poker rooms make so much money... 99% of the people playing there are blithering dumb fools.
You do suck, but the cards came NORMAL at the real life game. Go back to online, if you want premium hands every other hand. Just remember the rest of the table is getting premium hands all the time too.
Sorry to be harsh, but these jokers in here, wont tell you the real reasons. Save your money... play real cards for a while and learn. You may never want to go back online.

If you actually believe that merely the results from a single night of live poker can be used as any sort of proof or judgement over the skill level of a poker player, then I think you should take the time to actually play and learn this game...because you can't have played it much and you sure as hell haven't learned it.

First to JMX: What you experienced will definitely happen, online or offline. I've had weeks at a time when nothing was coming my way in terms of starting cards. Also, in my opinion, a good player will lose more money getting blinded away with crappola for starting cards than they will lose by bad beats on solid hands.
And Cheesy: What can we say? My theory is that Cheesy is a forum bot who automatically generates obnoxious posts to generate interest in the forum.

Technically, you're correct.
It is indeed a forum where knowledgeable players congregate. They discuss various poker issues, which help them improve their game. By offering their wisdom they are also helping the (in your words "suckers"), who are not so knowledgeable. In-turn, the "suckers" spend more money playing poker, because they have more knowledge and want to progress.
However, to my knowledge, most forums involve either advice or opinions. Whether you choose to use it or not is up to you. I class myself as a "sucker". My game has improved dramaticlly since using this forum.
I plan to continue using this forum, I guess cheeseywiff won't.

Out of curiousity am I the only player who DOESN'T get premium hands every other hand while playing online.
Seems like I often go for hours getting dealt next to nothing......

but latly iv not been getting good hands live and when i do i lose anyways
