Why don't you re-raise preflop?
As played, raise to $2 on the flop and put him all in on the turn.

I agree with Poto. Reraise PF to somewhere around $2.50. This will do a few things. First, the villain may fold and you win the pot. And if he calls, this will define your hand as well as give you some idea where the villain is at. There is $8.20 in the pot after his raise all-in and about $1.20 for you to call (if my math is correct). As played, I would call this on the end due to pot odds and the fact that you could easily have the best hand. Players at this level could be doing this with a flush draw, straight draw, top pair, and a lot of other hands you beat. So, how did it turn out?

Your almost forced to call here. Either this guy has you beat with KK or AA or he thinks his AX is good. The re-raise pre-flop might give you some more information but I highly doubt it.

Call
The guy is short stacked, with a hand like QQ, for his stack your pretty much compelled to pay him off if he holds KK or AA or made a set (10's seem the most likely given his preflop action but it is not likely enough to fold unless we have a read).
This type of read requires us to know the villian well enough to know it's a good fold, and I doubt you do to fold to this turn raise or you likely wouldn't have forced the issue on the turn.

I didn't reraise preflop because on this table raises stayed around the 4XBB (ie around the 40) . I did suspect a bigger pair then mine preflop and preferred to simply call and see how the flop develops...
Now he bets the flop. But its really a smallish bet (less the half the pot) So I raised and all he does is call. You can simply call a raise with a high pair here can you? You most be worried about a set ..
Now the turn couldn't possibly help him and he pushes allin... That's a pretty weird move in my opinion so of course I call. Taking his short stack in account but also his betting pattern.

I re-raise this preflop and take it from there.
If I think he might have a better pair on the flop then I pay him off he is short anyway, but I would do so by calling not raising.
If I raise he may fold alot of overcard hands but continue with hands that beat me, and then raising makes no sense. (pending - some shorties will call large bets with unimproved overs if commited at low stakes, versus them raising is good).

Don't be quick to assume big pair when there's no reason to. Reraising pre is good, perhaps, when we think other people might join in on the party or if we need information that we're unsure of. Sometimes it's best to just call like you did. (Clear as mud, I know).
As played, this is an easy call.

Call.
If he has you beat, then he should come over the top on your flop raise.
You gotta reraise preflop, make him think that YOU have AA or KK.

Its very doubtful he has KK or AA, as more than likely he puts the rest in on the flop after your raise. 1010 is his most likely made hand, the only one that I would play in the manner he did. If he doesnt have 1010 I really have no idea what he could be holding... Maybe 2 cards over 10, and he just thinks hes pot commited and wont want to fold on the end if he misses....
Either way, when his play doesnt make too much sense, I usually call down, especially when the raise is so small in comparision to the pot and we arent potentially drawing dead.
