an 18 man sng 4 people left 4 get paid your sitting in third, you get dealt dealt 7 8 in the big blind its folded round to sb who is short stack and pushes all in.
giving you 2-1 on making the call, his push is pretty standard here and could be pushing any 2 here hoping i will just fold. i would previously fold in this situation hoping for a better situation, or for one of the big stacks to take him down later to lift me higher up the pay scale.
now i would call every time and the results i have been seeing have really amazed me, a lot less bubble finishes and when im in the money iv been hitting alot more first and second finishes.
so i suppose my question would be am i correct in making these plays when im prob looking at a 60-40, or would you guys wait to have a better edge and be the one pushing and not calling.

depends... on how big the blinds are, and how big he is compared to you. But getting 2-1 on a push means blinds are a big part of the pot. So one or both of you are pretty short stacked.... I'd pretty much call every time.

Yeah the stack sizes help dictate the call or fold. If your stack is healthy and you think the SB would push with any two cards or most hands I think the fact you are potentially knocking out another player helps make it an easy call.
If he's been pretty tight I probably still call if my stack is healthy and I hope to have two live cards.
Part of it also probably depends on how the bigger stacks are playing. If they are being very aggresive or calling all ins with marginal hands I'd be more apt to let them do the work for me, if they are tight and I think I can steal right back and my stack is so-so I might lay it down and make the same move.
Lot of things to consider IMO.
