PartyPoker - PayPro verification

Posted Mon Oct 30, 2006 11:11 am GMT by pm_french
Not played on PartyPoker before and so decided to have a change of scenery. I deposited some cash then an email came to from PayPro asking me to call them for reasons of verification.

Is this standard practice? I'm reluctant to phone seeings as the number provided was for the states (I'm from the UK) and non of the Euro numbers seem to work. There was a note saying that if I don't call within a few days then the account would be suspended until verification was completed.

Up to now, I've only ever played on BlueSQ and there was none of this. Is this sort of thing standard for the other Major sites?

Found a reference in regard to multiple accounts: relates PayPro to party though...

"Multiple Household Accounts are allowed at Party Poker. Players may be asked for verification from Party Poker directly or from their cashiering service - PayPro, as part of an identification process.

Players who are associated in this way cannot play on the same tables or SnGs. They can however, play in the same multi-table tournaments, but cannot be situated on the same table, unless both make it to the final table. This security feature is to help ensure that two associated players cannot collude."

If in doubt, call party pokers customer service directly and speak with them of it. http://www.partypoker.com/help/

I tried calling those numbers but without success.

Sorry, if I'm being an absolute dick here - it was asking for an account number and PIN. I can't seem to find my account number anywhere but do have the PIN. I entered this and it seemed to be invalid.

I'm a bit peed off as I never had any of this with BlueSQ. I've sent an email asking what it's for and to see if there's a UK number I can call (I mean for a company such as this why should I have to be calling the USA). I'll hold off and see if anything happens though my main concern would be if there were any issues with cashing out as a result of not following this through.
