Getting paid with your monsters

One problem that most people have to deal with is to extract as much money as you can with your premium hands e.g. sets and some obscure 2-pairs.

Recently I have tried this incredibly simple play a few times: a massive overbet all-in on flop, especially when you are against a preflop raiser and are out of position. Most of the time these people hold an overpair or TPGK and will call you.

I believe that making our simple move on the flop are as follows:
1) Opponents have very little information on your hand.
2) You don't need to see another card, and opponent doesn't think he'll want to see another card either. Check-raises will let any moderately good opponent fold or min. 3-bet and then fold to your push. Check-call and your opponent will shut down if a 3-flush or 3-straight comes on the turn.

Here are some examples.

Flopped a set with 44. Opponent thought for a short while and then called. He has <1 out on the flop.

Another small set. I didn't like my extra move here. Fortunately my opponent instant-called. Again, my opponent is drawing dead already on the turn.

A counter-example. Judging from subsequent plays, SB would probably have called any on the flop, and had I made my move on the flop I wouldn't have to worry about with potential straights on this board.

This is top 2 pair against an overpair. I made my move and successfully lured my opponent into calling. Unfortunately he runner-runnered a straight. I wasn't an overwhelming favourite anyways, and I wasn't thrilled about the result, but I was very happy with my play.

Any thoughts?

Won't work at higher levels.

Any competent player should be able to lay down TPTK. You got paid buy some donks.

It can work at higher levels also, if you do the same with draws.

But then it becomes a high variance style.

Then you don't win anything anyways.
Unless we slowplay the flop and let them hit something on the turn
But I'm not a big fan of slow-playing coz if I later found out my slow-playing cost me the pot I'll be very pissed.

AK/AQ might call you thinking that they have the best hand if they pair on turn.
