Will be staying at the Imperial Palace (thanks for the tip, Dave), which costs less for 3 nights than the Mirage does for one...and it's right across the street.
If anyone else is going to be there around that time, let me know.

Johnnyboy and I are 95% sure we will be there 1/28-1/31. I dont know about December.

BTW, a nice day in LV is playing Bellagio from 4-5pm until 3-4am. Get to bed around 4am and sleep until 10-11am. From IP you can hang a left and get a Subway or BK in OShea's or go right and get a Chipotle or McD's. After a nibble, play the $50 NL tourney at IP or $60 NL at Harrahs starting between 11am or 1pm. After that, grab a 2 hour nap and start all over.

I think I'll give that a try. Normally, I'd grind 10/20 at the Mirage for 14-16 hours, but the occasional tourney would be fun.
I want to get a few hours in at the Wynn too.

Make sure you check out the Venetian and Caesars, too. Both have large, very nice rooms. That part of the Strip has the best poker, IMO. Mirage, Caesars, Bellagio and Venetian are all right there next to or across the street from each other.

I've actually played just about everywhere with the exception of MGM and the Wynn. Usually I stay at the Hilton, take the monorail to Mirage, play all day, take the monorail back and crash for a few hours. Rinse and repeat for 3-4 days.

IMO, I would skip the Mirage rock garden and play 8/16 at Wynn or Bellagio. There is a lot more action.
Venetian and Caesars are nice rooms, but the limit games are 3/6 or 4/8 tops. Venetian gets a 6/12 ($3 chips????? WTF???) game occasionally.

There are a lot of locals who play a tight, solid game, but there are also a lot of wealthy tourists trying to learn the game. I typically find the NL games there profitable over the weekends and really tough during the week.
Aladdin (Planet Hollywood) has one of the softest NL games in Vegas, although they typically only offer 1/2NL (2/5NL occasionally on weekends)

The MGM room is really nice. Last time I was there, the NL game was easy money. And that says a lot coming from me.

I'm in Winter Park for the New Year's weekend--skiing my butt off.
Skiing (and not poker) is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Wish I had something the least bit interesting to report. Long wait for a seat at Bellagio, so grind grind grind at the Mirage on Friday and Saturday. +$500 at 10/20 with a couple crappy beats thrown in to bite into the winnings. Had to quit the game because all of a sudden, the regulars moved in. At best, I might have been able to hold my own for a while, but I'd been playing 10 hours already and I didn't feel much like risking what little profit I had on a ego trip.
Right now, I'm sitting in McCarran with a crappy wifi hotspot waiting for my flight which is delayed an hour (so far).
Yay.
