About You

Well, I like this place, so it looks like you're all stuck with me for a while. That said, I respect a lot of the opinions I've seen here, and I'd like to know a little more about you. Not necessarily personal stuff (because I know many of us on-liners aren't comfortable with that sort of thing), but rather the history of your poker "career" and where you've gone with it thus far.

How did it all start for you? What did you start with? How much do you have now? What types of games do you play? What are your goals? Strengths (and weaknesses) as a player? How are you better now than when you first started? Anything you have to pass on, I'd love to hear it.

I'm a hobby poker player who play low stakes since I'm currently a student and can't afford a bankroll for higher stakes yet. I don't have the mentality needed to 'grind' my bankroll up to higher stakes by playing thousands of hands, for me...poker is just a hobby, and it will have to remain on the stakes I can afford to play, I'm just to sensible to gamble it up.

My bankroll is nothing impressive, I started with a 10 buck deposit which I ran up and bustoed like 99% of all the others who do the same, found this place and got interested in poker theory. After that I just fiddled around with low stakes and made some hundred bucks. Took a break from online play. In august I re-depoed online and made about 800$ for a 1000$ roll total during that month from ring games and some bonuses, then I got bored and haven't played much since.

I dislike tournaments because of the shortstacked play which tend to bore me, though I have play some tourneys and SNGs for others and I guess I'm 'allright' at tourney play. For cashgame I play both low stakes FL and NL and do well in both.

My goals are to have fun in poker, get some income and play around the 400NL - 600NL marks just for kicks. (You guys better be waiting for the 'live one', haha).

As for strengths/weaknesses, it is hard to 'analyze' oneself. I doubt I'm a tremendously good player, but I'm a fairly good player for my stakes and I think I adjust well to other players, but I'm def. a sucker for being fooled into being aggressive.

Started playing poker in many variations about 20+ years ago with friends. Mainly nickle/dime stuff. We played 5 draw, 5 stud, 7 stud, lowball stud and many many other variations of poker. When I hit 18 I started playing in larger stakes still mainly in home games with friends. This is about the time I learned Texas Holdem and Omaha.

Found out about online poker about 2 years ago and started playing in smaller limits. Like Tamed I only play for recreation online. I save my serious play for the few live games I play in.

I found this forum and started discussing other players methodology and understanding of the various variations of poker and it has helped my game greatly.

Now just dabbling with a couple dollars for a bankroll and holding out to deposit till I see how this new bill is going to affect the online wallet sites like Neteller.
