This is more of a general question, than one about a specific hand.

Lets say i have Q8-offsuit and the flop comes Q62. I have top pair and make a pot sized bet and get one caller. What do i do on the turn, check or bet?

I appriciate there are a million-and-one other factors involved, but as i said, this is a general question, not a specific one. I'm just finding that on the micro limits lots of players call bets on the flop and wait for the turn and even river with nothing.

If you answer "bet", roughly how much?

I know this is a crap question, but i hope you get the idea. thanks

1st thing to think about: What kind of hands have I been showing? Would my opponent think they were winning here without a queen?

If YES: Bet. Either they have a worse hand and will call, or will fold right there.

If NO:

2nd thing to think about: Would they fold a better queen or a two pair, etc?

If yes: Bet.

If NO: Check.

First I'd ask why are you in the hand with Q8? If you answer: stealing or I'm in the BB then we can continue the conversation.

You'd be surprised how often players have you outkicked. I've had two or three SnGs recently where I checked from the BB with something like K3 or Q6 and got myself all-in against a hand with a better kicker (high blinds, small stacks).

I'd refrain from making that first PSB, make it 2/3, it does the same thing.
