NL strategy

I feel that the power of connectors and mid range cards are very key in NL poker. A 67 might be a better hand than AA in some of the tight NL i have been playing online. If i see a tight rock raise preflop, i am willing to gamble with anything just because i know that i will get paid off if i hit.

I think it depends on your position, and the number of callers. I'll play suited connectors in late position if I'm going to get alot of callers and get good pot odds on it. If I'm playing heads up against a raiser, its just not worth it. That changes abit if its a short-handed game, though. In a full ring game, you need to tighten up quite a bit.

One thing that I consider when playing Ax is the abilty to get paid off when these two conditions arise.

- Flush
- Pair on board

What's the sense of playing Axs if no one is going to pay off the flush. You might as well throw your money away on this hand. Your ace may very well be dominated if that comes up...throw this hand away if it's real aggressive on the preflop/flop or if you won't get paid off when it does hit.

With a pair on board, if people are going to push that K55 board with AK then it's great to play this, otherwise it's good only as to throw off your opponents on what you play and to help push YOUR AK with a similiar board. Play them if you can break even but try not to push people off their hands when you do make them...you want to show it as well as make some money off of them.

I tell ya, I haven't seen too many rocks lately. But if I ever see one that calls when not on the blinds I usually chuck my hand. Unless it's ace something or king something. Somedays it feels like 67s does very well, somedays you fell more lucky and are willing to gamble like that. This is a bad idea everytime I do it, but when I win a pot by outdrawing a big hand I usually play about everything. Especially if the pot was big. This post is basically useless but atleast it let me do something. (man I am pathetic, haha)
