Another KK Hand!

$100NL. 6max. no reads. There is $12 in the pot on the flop. What do I do here? Call? Fold? That massive overbet is ridiculous. What do I beat? What could he have? Much thanks in advance.

This is a very situational decision. Does villain play many hands. Call many preflop raises. Blind protector. Does the table usually fold to a continues bet... etc etc..

All we really have is a pair. We are behind a set, two pairs. We could be out drawn by a flush or a str8.

Do you really want to gamble most of your stack on a top pair?
.....

So I am sitting here trying to convince my self to call :
So he left himself $0.01
Could be a drawing hand to the nuts. I don't necessary see a set hoping to get called on such a flop. I'm guessing something like 98o, or A8s (the right suit) and am convincing my self to call...

How much had you raised preflop prior to this pot?

I think you'll see a combo draw here pretty often, straight and flush draw, pair and flush draw, etc. His push is incredibly bad no matter what he's got so it's really hard to imagine what he'd open push with instead of check raising all in.

Had he done anything like this before? Like pushing draws, or making huge bets in small pots.

I have not been at the table too long. I have not seen him do anything like this previously. I have not been raising too much. And yes, he did leave 0.01 behind. I believe that is a glitch in the Doyle's Room software. Sometimes when you bet the "Max" it leaves 0.01 behind. I don't know why. I just couldn't see someone doing that bet if they had a set or two pair.

I think this is a pretty easy call. You are ahead of a lot of hands here (QQ-99) that villain might play this way. Most likely, villain has some sort of a combo draw (str8+flush, pair + flush). While it is true that he could have 88 or 77, most players would milk it a bit and not push right away. I suppose he could also have AA, but again that would be a milking hand.

Why I think it is an easy call is because you have the Kh. So unless he specifically holds the NFD, you have redraws to a lower flush if it comes on the turn.

That was pretty much my exact though process. (Except for the redraw that I held with the Kh). Anyway, I called the bet. He had 67hh. For the straigh/flush draw. Would this be the correct call if we knew his hand? If I am not mistaken, I am only going with win this hand approximately 48% of the time. So it is basically a coin flip.

If something is a coinflip it's basically never really wrong to call as long as there is money in the pot.

Of course, if there is very little money many prefer not too in order to avoid the hassle. Smile

Hahah! Yeah, I understand what ya mean. I forgot to mention it, but the turn and river blanked and I won the hand. After he showed his hand, I really couldn't understand his move. And I really wasn't sure if I should have called. But it looks like it was the right move!
