1st - villain is new to table however is pretty aggressive and made me fold pocket K's on his 1st hand on table (could have been a bad fold but flop was 3 suited with an A)

now this is a hugh over bet.
I don't think he has a set or even 2 pairs. I also don't think he holds AK.I still think he has a weak K.

Any comments are welcome.
I work hard to grind and built my BR slowly slowly and then lose most of it in hands like these .

Hand #1 you definitely have to call. Just a cooler river card.
Hand #2, I would lay that down quickly on his huge re-aise. In fact, once he raises your initial bet, I slow down to try and see a safe turn card (since he could raise here with a diamond draw). There is no way I get all my $$ in to the middle with your hand on that board. I know you are good enough to find a better spot to call off all of your $$.
As it turns out, he overplayed his hand as well, but it was still better than yours. Gotta muck there.

You did everything but win the first hand, nothing to say there except tough river.
Hand two, you were right in your read and you just got unlucky. I don't know how tempted I'd be to call his all-in but you found a hand you could beat and did it, just got unlucky. You have to be a little careful of the advice you take for this hand IMO, if it was your read you were a big favorite and had every right to get the money in the middle. If it was something else then the call was iffy. I only mention that because you start off the hand by saying new player and no reads and then get a very specific read into the hand that could IMO meant a lot of different things.
I can't really find anything else to beat up on ya for, I guess don't be so unlucky? Hang in there man.

Thanks. To clarify : I usually put people on hands I can beat, It allow me to play more hands
Seriously, I do not know how or why I felt he had a worse kicker but I did.
At the time I felt like I played great. Had a great read but simply lost to one of his 3 outers. However, when I cooled down I got to think that maybe I didn't play it fine. He could have been over protecting his 2 pairs or even a small set. Sure in this levels most players usually slow play those but who knows...

KQ IS NOT A GOOD HAND!
TOP PAIR IS NOT A GOOD HAND!
After saying that, the first hand the money went in slowly and would be tough to get away from. But the 2nd hand... I really don't like. I see more people get stacked on KQ than any other hand. All you have is a pair... Lay it down.

I'm in full agreement. Same goes for pretty much everyone else who posted. Hand 1 is ok, hand 2 is bad.

yeah second hand is bad. stop thinking so specifically...
There's no need to min raise like that... if you REALLY want info, raise to 3 or so, and be prepared to fold to any more money. You're going to have to get used to the fact that against super aggressive people you're going to have to wait for opportunities where you're SURE that you're winning. Being a good player doesn't necessarily mean you haveta say "okay he has a pair of tens with an ace kicker, i think". Low stakes players don't usually have the guts to make super strong plays (especially seeing your resistance) without having you beat there. Re-re-reraises don't usually happen with worse than top pair - top kick.

Please check again the first hand.
This kind of play happen all the time in low levels. A lot of these players do not understand the value of a kicker. For crying out loud , he called a raised with A5o.
But I am starting to understand the vulnerability of a pair. Somewhat.
I'm still not sure how to play them against an aggressive player.

check out this hand , again to prove my point about players at lower levels.
Not only did he reraise me with 2nd button - he called an allin from a 3rd player

No need to play down to their level.
Posted Wed Nov 22, 2006 6:21 pm GMT by MrDarling
agreed. But how do you play against them when you don't have the nuts?
I was actually planing to call the first raise. But when other dude pushed I knew I'm no longer ahead. But imagine this was HU. How would you play 10's on a flop like that?
Simply fold to any resistance?
I do fold a lot more lately. I only lose when I chase draws or when I out drawn (or unlucky enough to have J's against K's or K's cracked by 9's etc...)
thanks.
