I should have posted this the day it opened, but the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City has opened a live poker room, giving Northwest Indiana residents and visitors another venue.
Sadly, the place currently spreads only "tourist poker:" 3/6 limit and $80 max buy-in NL.
However, my NL friends have made a small fortune by sitting down, patiently working their stacks to the $500+ range, and then crushing opponents mercilessly as they sit down with their 80 bucks. It's really a fight so patently unfair that they've changed the NL rules in places like Tunica, where you may now buy in for up to 75% of the largest stack at the table.
Thumbnail review:
Nice room, pleasant smoke-free atmosphere (pi). Dealers are GREEN and will try the patience of experienced players (few exceptions--they had only 2 dealers on staff opening day with prior poker). Staff courteous and professional. 10% rake up to $5. Seat time in NL $14/hr--rather pricey for an $80 buy-in game. Rumors of weekend $200 NL and 5/10 FL.
(2.5 stars out of 5)

In Indiana $5 for 30 minutes would be considered an irresistable inducement.
