Personally, I would reraise preflop to about 250 - 300 or so. As played, I think I would make a smaller raise. There is no need to bet so many chips here. Make a raise to about 400 and take it from there.

Since you have position, I would play this hand a little differently.

1. I would reraise before the flop so that even if we miss, our continuation is more likely to succeed. Especially at low stakes, players tend to interpret a reraise preflop as a big pair, so this both adds deception to your play and is a pure raise for value since you almost certainly have him in bad shape. Calling with AK occasionally is alright also, but in tournaments, particularly in position, I think reraising is usually better.

2. Assuming you reraised preflop (I would say to 250 - 300 as aaron said), he will probably check to you on the flop. I would make a continuation bet of abour 2/3 the pot, and if you get called, try to get the rest of the money in unless a spade falls.

3. On the turn, make a big bet unless a spade falls, and try to put him to a push or fold decision.

4. As you played it, I think the all-in raise is pretty bad from a value perspective. Yes, in a tournament you're usually looking to get your whole stack in given the relative size of the blinds and the speed at which they'll go up, but you need to do it gradually to trap the other guy. Here, I would raise to 300 - 350 and see what happens. If he has AT - AQ, you have a decent shot at his stack, and if he has a draw, you've greatly reduced his implied odds. If he calls that raise and no spade falls on the turn, I would make a big bet to put him to a push or fold decision.

Great post Diamond, thanks.

With continuation bets, how much do you usually bet out with in this sort of situation ? pot sized or just under approx ? and do you fold to a raise with no draws and no reads on villain ?

In low levels the cont. bet size should be slightly bigger then in higher stakes. Since in low stakes people consider bet size in relation to their stack and not to the pot.

In any case, in an MTT or S&G I'd usually cont bet 1/2 to 3/4 pot, especially in position. Its not even a mini bluff. If no one hit this flop, you have the best hand (AK high)
A c/r on this flop can mean a flush draw, but can also be 2 pairs, a set or even a weaker A (especially if we didn't raise preflop). At lower levels I've seen people c/r 2nd pair.

With no reads, and no draws, on a missed flop I'd probably fold to most c/r
