I think this is a pretty easy fold. You have shown strength 3 times and now villain is checkraising you? What do you think villain can have that you beat? AQ? AJ? Would any rational player play those this way? Only if he held the spades too.

There are just too many ways that you could be behind here with little to no chance of catching up. You are dead to 55, 99, 43 and have very few outs against A9, A5, and A2. Not only that, but it is likely that you will have another (bigger) decision to make on the river if you do call. Re-raising or pushing in this spot is foolish because you won't get a better hand to fold and a worse hand won't call. Bad things all around.

Since you don't have any read information, let it go and wait for a spot where you do and you are stronger.

Instead of putting myself in this position, would it be better to just check behind on the turn and call a river bet?

I'd put him on AsQs and call. I have no idea how i'd play the river because I suck at poker too.

This is definitely an option. The problem with it though is that you do give him a free look at the river card which could beat you. If the board doesn't have a lot of draws, then I like this play a lot in position as it maximizes winning value while minimizing losses those times you are behind. It also will get him to potentially bet the river for you with a worse hand (like AQ or AJ) which if he doesn't improve will win you more. Since he would have likely called your turn bet with those hands anyway, this actually minimizes what you lose on the hand.

However, if the board is really draw oriented, I think you have to fire again. He will be hard pressed to check-raise bluff since you have shown so much strength already, so you can fold with good conscience when he does that.

As with most everything, these types of hands are very situational and villain dependent. So, don't get in the habit of playing it the same every time. As always, the texture of the board, what you know of your opponent, stack sizes, and position should lead you to the right conclusion most of the time.

What shorn said.

I think you are probably beat here. I hate the min raisers so much, but usually when they check min raise you are looking at a hand that has you beat here.

You have clearly defined your hand here to villain and he decides to check raise rather than check call.

I don't think you should take a free card on the turn in this spot because you miss out on a lot of money those times he is holding Ax and you have him beat, plus a free card could give him a shot at beating you and give you a difficult decision to make on the river.

Also, you can fold to a check raise because I can't see him making such a move without TPTK beat.

This is all against a random player of course with no reads.

I don't nessasarly think you're beat, but i don't think you're in a position to find out.

It's too early in the day and you don't have any reads on the other players.

I don't think your're turn bet was wrong. I think i could dismiss him having 43 or A?, but as i said, you're in a position to find out.

Let it go and save you're money.

(admittedly, there is this grey area because you have KA, and i guess you think you should be paid off?)
