I'm natrually a tight player, however I like to think I can change my game to suit the circumstances.

I'm on this table (online-cash $0.10-0.20) The table is quite loose and I'm playing really tight. A few players leave and a few more join. The table then goes really tight.(I mean everyone folding around to the SB. I decide to play loose and therefore call every non-raised hand. I end up winning quite a few $. But should I therefore think about changing the way I play.

Now, some of you always play tight, some always play loose, some always agressive, some always passive.

But have you ever changed the way you play, not becasue of the table (or circumstances), but just to try something new and change the way you play.

If so, how did you get on? Has it changed your game for the better or worse? Has it made you a better player, or have you decided that the old way was the better way?

Even if the answer is NO. Would you consider changing the way you play?

What is your flop %?

I used to play tight and saw about 15-18% flops. Now days I just concentrate on playing favorable situations, and my flop % is now about 24%.

Example, I might fold AQoff in early position, but raise 9Tsuited in late position.

You always have to change gears according to many factors, such as how the rest of the table is playing, what your position is, how the rest of the table (or a certain opponent in particular) perceives you, etc

Just to say 'tight is right', or 'loose is right', and to apply that to every hand, is just flat out wrong. You must always adjust accordingly. I might call 3 bets with J8 off-suit on the button right now, and fold J8 suited on the button to 1 bet an hour later, sitting at the same game; depending on the conditions.

I agree, I often change gears according to my mood and feel.
