Villain is very aggressive. He is 18/14/4.3

To be honest I feel like I played this hand poorly. I know I need to raise here but I am not too sure where. I probably should have raised the flop, correct? Thanks in advance.

Def. raise either the flop or turn, preferably the flop so you can more likely set the bet size on the turn.

I'm not ultra-familiar with PT numbers or their meanings, but if villain is so aggressive, why NOT raise on an earlier street when you were likely to have the best of it?

I prefer calling to reraising preflop here though. But raising the flop is nearly mandatory, and raising the turn was an ABSOLUTE MUST the way it played out.

Depends a lot on villain too. Was he "smart" LAG (betting small to stab, but usually betting big for value) or "dumb" LAG (betting big all the way with marginal hands)? That makes a huge difference and is what separates players like Ciso_B and supafrey from the LAG-donks that often stalk $100NL.

Well, he wasn't an idiot, but he wasnt great either. I know that isnt too much help, but it is hard to describe his play... sorry!

Edit- I just looked at poker tracker and it seems i have played 1000 hands with him. I definately do not remember tangling with him previously. Anyway, over those 1000 hands he is a loser. So take that as you want...

raise the flop. it will win you more when ahead, allow you to keep the pot smaller on the turn if you so choose, and if he comes over you, you can fold and it will save you $$.

In hindsight I probably should have played it this way. During the hand I was planning to raise his turn bet (or bet if checked to). But after he bet this would create a big pot with a weak hand. I botched this hand s bad. Embarassed
